Pika publishes length as a priced step
The pricing page lists five and ten seconds for text-to-video and image-to-video, and twenty to twenty-five seconds on Pikaframes. Duration appears as a column with its own cost, which makes length a billing decision taken at the moment of the request. As of 2026-09-12.
| Step | Length | Where it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 5 seconds | Priced for text-to-video and image-to-video |
| Standard | 10 seconds | The longest of the ordinary steps |
| Pikaframes | 20 to 25 seconds | Its own row, priced separately |
Inclusion rule. Lengths the pricing page attaches a cost to. A length shown in a demonstration but absent from the priced table is not recorded, because the priced table is what a buyer is held to. Order. Shortest first, with the separately priced mode last.
1A step is a commitment made before the shot exists
Where length is a free parameter, a piece can be asked for at the length the edit wants. Where it is a priced step, the choice is between five and ten, and anything in between is bought at ten and trimmed. The waste is small per request and compounds across a campaign of variants.
It also changes what a draft costs. Iterating a seven second beat means paying the ten second rate every time, so the cheap way to explore is at five and the expensive way is to discover at ten that the beat needed to be seven.
2Pikaframes is a second route rather than a longer step
Twenty to twenty-five seconds is published in its own priced row, not as a third value in the standard ladder. It reads as a different mode with a different cost basis, which is why this register lists it as a separate step rather than extending the range.
Against the slots that exist, that row is the one that matters. Thirty seconds is the Masthead autoplay window and the point a skippable view is charged, and a single twenty-five second piece comes closer to it than two standard steps joined in an edit.
3What the page states about shape, and what it does not
Resolutions appear because each is priced: 480p, 720p and 1080p. Aspect ratio appears nowhere on the page, so this row is hollow in that column and the Masthead's stated widescreen requirement cannot be checked against it from the page this register reads.
The pattern is consistent across the priced pages in this register. What is charged for gets printed; what is merely true about the output does not, and shape is almost never charged for.
