Ad placement specs against what generators output

Resolution is the spec everybody publishes

Fourteen of the 15 tools here publish a resolution: Pika at 480p, 720p and 1080p; Kling AI at 720p, 1080p and 4K; Vidu at 540p, 720p and 1080p; PixVerse from 360p; CogVideoX at 720 x 480 and nothing else. It is the best-covered column on these sheets. As of 2026-09-12.

Where each published resolution ladder starts, and who that suitsEvery tool in this register publishes resolution. One ladder starts at 480p, one at 540p and one at 720p, and two of them reach 1080p while one reaches 4K. Where a ladder starts says more about the intended buyer than where it ends.Published ladders, lowest floor firstStarts at 480pThe lowest published rung in the register. A starting rung thislow points at volume rather than at finish.Starts at 540pA vertical-first floor, above the cheapest rung and belowbroadcast habits.Starts at 720pNo rung below it is offered, which sets a higher floor on costas well as on quality.Reaches 4KOne ladder goes here. No placement in this register asks for it.The top rung is the one with the least placement justification
Fig. 1 Resolution is published by everyone because it is what the price is attached to. That makes the starting rung, not the top one, the informative number.
What each tool states about the size of its output, and why that figure is on the page at all. Recorded 2026-09-12.

Inclusion rule. Resolutions the vendor states on its own pages, whether a priced page, an API reference or a model card. A resolution read off a generated file is a measurement and is not recorded. Order. By tool name, A to Z; the row that publishes no ladder keeps its place in it.

1Published because priced, not because it matters most

Resolution appears almost everywhere for a commercial reason: it is a lever vendors charge for, and where nobody is charging, it is the figure a model card exists to report. That makes it the best-documented spec in this register and not the most consequential one for matching a piece of creative to a slot.

Nothing on a YouTube help page in this register states a required resolution for any format. The spec almost everybody publishes is the one the placement side does not ask about.

2Where a ladder starts says who it is for

A tool whose cheapest rung is 720p is not competing for the same work as one starting at 480p. For vertical advertising watched on phones, the lower rungs are usually sufficient and the top of the ladder is bought for reasons other than the placement.

The register records the rungs without recommending one, because the right rung depends on where the piece is going and whether it will be reframed later.

34K is the rung with the least placement justification

Three rows reach 4K or above: Kling AI, Google Veo at 4k with the eight second length attached, and HeyGen, whose 4,096 pixel upper bound covers it without naming it. No format in this register asks for any of that, and a Masthead autoplaying without sound on desktop is not where 4K earns its cost.

That is an observation about the match between the two sides rather than about the tools. Somebody is buying 4K for something, and it is not these placements.
