Ad placement specs against what generators output

How the two sides of this site are matched

Placement requirements come from the platform's own help pages. Output limits come from the tool vendor's own pages. Nothing is estimated, and where either side does not publish a value the row says so instead of filling the gap. As of 2026-09-12.

Fig. 1 Matching two published values is a different act from estimating a third. Only the first is done here, which is why some rows read as incomplete.

1Two sources, never mixed

A placement row is only as good as the page it came from, so requirements are taken from the platform that sells the placement and from nowhere else. Agency blog posts, spec cheat sheets and aggregator summaries all carry the same numbers most of the time, and when they are wrong they are wrong silently and for months.

Output limits are taken the same way, from the vendor's own pages: a priced page, an API reference, a usage-limits page or a model card. A duration quoted in a launch announcement is not used if the vendor's own page says something else, because that page is the one a buyer is held to.

2What a generations-needed number means

It is division, not judgement: the format length divided by the tool's longest published single generation, rounded up. Nothing in it accounts for how many attempts a usable take costs, because no vendor publishes that, and nothing in it says whether the joins will look right.

So the number answers one narrow question well: whether a format can be made as one continuous piece or has to be assembled. That is the question that decides whether continuity between separately generated shots becomes the main creative problem of the job.

3What is deliberately left out

File and frame-rate figures are recorded only where a page states them. TikTok publishes a size cap and a bitrate floor and three generator pages state a frame rate, while Google's formats page gives durations and behaviour rather than codecs and bitrates, and no vendor page read here states the size or bitrate of its output. A register that filled those cells would be quoting something other than the page it names.

Review and approval rules are also out of scope. Whether a platform will run generated creative, and what it requires to be disclosed, is a different question from whether the file fits the slot.

4Dates and corrections

Each figure carries the day it entered this file and the day it was last held against its source. Holding it against the source and finding no change still advances the second date, which keeps an unexamined spec visibly different from a confirmed one.

A page is dated by its content rather than by the build, so nothing moves when the site is regenerated. Where a platform or a vendor now publishes something else, that page is the record and this one is corrected.

5Making the ad itself

For ad work around “Method”, SceneMixer's pages explain how its ad projects are produced:

Paste a scene or a short script and SceneMixer gives you a storyboard — numbered shots with framing and seconds — and then a moving version of each segment, which you can join into a rough cut of the scene.

The spoken lines and the end card follow your interface language across fifteen dialogue languages, with the cast and setting adapted to that market. The end card falls back to a language it can typeset when a script needs shaping or right-to-left layout.
