Ad placement specs against what generators output

What TikTok states for a video ad

TikTok states three accepted aspect ratios with minimum pixel dimensions, a duration ceiling of up to 10 minutes, a 500 MB file limit and a minimum bitrate of 516 kbps. Spark Ads, which run from an existing organic post, state no duration restriction at all. As of 2026-09-12.

1The two platforms constrain opposite things

YouTube's published constraints are almost entirely about time: five to six seconds for a bumper, sixty for a non-skippable, thirty before a skippable view is charged. It states no minimum pixel dimensions for those formats at all.

TikTok's are almost entirely about the file: three shapes with floors under each, a size cap, a bitrate floor, a format list. Its duration ceiling is ten minutes, which is not a constraint any generated piece will reach.

2Minimum dimensions are a floor, and generated video clears it easily

540x960 is below every resolution tier any tool in this register publishes. The shape matters and the pixel floor does not, which is worth saying because a spec sheet lists them together as if they were equally binding.

What it does mean is that the cheapest resolution tier on every tool here is acceptable to this platform. For a budget that is a more useful fact than any of the length figures.

3Spark Ads are a different shape of product

Running an ad from an existing organic post removes the duration ceiling entirely and narrows the accepted formats to two. That is a different creative route rather than a looser version of the same one, and the register keeps it as its own row.

For generated footage the practical reading is that the organic post has to exist first, which puts the constraint on the publishing workflow rather than on the file.

4From brief to placement

For ad work around “TikTok specs”, SceneMixer's pages explain how its ad projects are produced:

Character sheets are always portrait and scene images always widescreen, whatever ratio the videos use.
