Making a bumper ad with generated video
A bumper ad runs 5 to 6 seconds and cannot be skipped. Twelve of the 15 tools in this register publish a length that covers it in a single call, one publishes its length in frames rather than seconds, and two publish no length at all on the pages read here. As of 2026-10-13.
| Tool | Generations needed | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Nova Reel | One shot | Six seconds is the published increment |
| CogVideoX | One generation | Six seconds is the published length |
| Google Veo | One generation | Six seconds is one of three published lengths |
| Grok Imagine | One generation | Any whole value from one second upward |
| Hedra | One generation | Ten minute ceiling, so nothing binds |
| HeyGen | One scene | Thirty minute ceiling, so nothing binds |
| Kling AI | Not stated | No duration published on the price page |
| LTX-Video | One generation | 177 frames at the published 30 fps |
| MiniMax | One generation | Four seconds is the floor on MiniMax-H3 |
| Pika | One generation | 5 s is a priced step |
| PixVerse | One generation | Version 6 takes any value from one to fifteen |
| Runway | One generation | Five seconds is the floor on Gen-4.5 |
| SceneMixer | One generation | Inside the 30 s tier ceiling |
| Vidu | Not stated | No duration published on the price page |
| Wan 3.0 | One generation | Two seconds is the floor |
Inclusion rule. Every tool in this register, matched only against a length its own pages state. A vendor that publishes no length is recorded as not stated rather than estimated from a demonstration. Order. Alphabetical by tool name; the two with no published length keep their place in it.
1The format generated tools are already shaped for
Five to six seconds fits inside a single call on every tool that states a length in seconds, which means a bumper is the one YouTube format where the tool imposes no constraint the format does not already impose. There is no join to hide, no continuity to hold between shots, and no compositing step to pay for. Whatever a tool can do in one call, it can do here.
The constraint moves to the writing instead. Six seconds is one idea and one line, and the frame has to carry the brand without a reveal, because a viewer cannot be asked to wait for anything. That is a creative limit rather than a technical one, and no register can help with it.
2Where the published numbers stop
Two vendors here publish nothing about duration on their priced pages, so their rows say so. It is very likely that both can produce six seconds; the point of this register is that likely is not the same as published, and a media plan that has to be signed off runs on the second of those. A third row, LTX-Video, publishes a frame count and a frame rate and never a second, which is a different kind of gap and is marked as one.
Nothing in Google's help page states a resolution or aspect ratio for this format either, so the specification a buyer works to is a duration and nothing else. That is unusually simple and it is the reason bumpers are the common entry point for generated advertising.
3Shape is decided by the placement, not by the format
With no aspect ratio in the format definition, the shape a bumper has to be is whatever the surface it runs on takes, and that is decided in the media plan rather than here. Nine rows in this register publish their shapes somewhere a buyer can read them, from two values on Google Veo and HeyGen to eight on PixVerse; six publish nothing about shape at all.
It matters more at six seconds than at sixty. A short ad is usually one framing, and a framing generated for the wrong shape cannot be rescued by a crop without moving the subject, so the shape has to be right at the moment of generation rather than in an edit afterwards.
